Kristen Stewart Gets a Home of Her Own

BUYER: Kristen Stewart
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
PRICE: $2,195,000
SIZE: 3,361 square feet, 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Before fame averse actress Kristen Stewart was caught stepping out on her equally publicity eschewing—and possibly faux six-packedTwilight co-star and boyfriend Robert Pattinson, the young, superstar couple shacked up in unmarried bliss and sin in a double-gated, privately situated and heavily fortified Spanish-style residence in a particularly posh pocket of Los Angeles' Los Feliz neighborhood that Mister Pattinson acquired in September 2011 for $6,275,000.

Soon after the errors of Miss Stewart's illicit fling with married director Rupert Sanders was exposed in the tabloid media spectral actress reportedly packed up a small U-Haul and decamped for parts unknown. Your Mama didn't have any idea where Miss Stewart moved until this weekend when, out of the blue, a trusted and realiable informant—let's call her Lucinda Looselips—rang Your Mama's bell to tell us that the famously reclusive actress very quietly purchased a house of her own, also in Los Feliz, just about 1.5 miles from the one she shared with the publicly cuckolded Mister Pattinson.

Natch, Your Mama did some digging around in the property records and, lo' and behold, we quickly sussed out that in late August 2012, in the chaotic wake of the tabloid circus that surrounded her lusty liason, a generically named trust paid $2,195,000 for house in a much-coveted gated enclave long favored by famous folks and other Showbiz denizens. The trust's recorded address happens to be a nondescript red brick office building in Van Nuys (CA) owned—according to records—by Miss Stewart's mother. Of course, chickens, it could be this house was bought by Miss Stewart's parents, but a second, also wickedly reliable source says that's not the case and that the new owner of the house is indeed Miss Stewart.

Listing information from the time of the purchase that we managed to tease out of the internets shows two-story hillside house—a questionable but not completely unsuccessful architectural potpourri of southwestern and contemporary styles enshrouded in dense tropical landscaping—measures 3,361 square feet with four en suite bedrooms plus an additional half pooper for guests.

Many of the living spaces have Saltillo tile or wide plank wood flooring and open to deep, shaded verandas conducive to quintessentially California indoor-outdoor living. The center-island eat-in kitchen juxtaposes high-grade stainless steel appliances with rustic wood cabinetry and wall-mounted plate racks and country-style butcher block counter tops. Frankly, we think the kitchen is a country house hot mess but to each his or her own decorative preferences, right?

The back of the house opens on both levels to covered porches with long and wide, over-the-tree-top vistas over the gritty streets of Hollywood. Set well below the house, the terraced and tropically landscaped back yard includes broad sunbathing and lounging terraces, a dark-bottom lap-length swimming pool with integrated spa, a couple flat patches of grass and and a built in stacked stone fire pit.

Miss Stewart and Mister Pattinson are said to have reconciled—they were photographed together over the weekend at a somewhat under-the-radar dive bar not far from their respective residences in Los Feliz—but it's not known if they plan to once again cohabitate and if they do if they'll opt for Mister Pattinson's place or Miss Stewart's new digs.

Other well-known owners of home's behind the gates of Miss Stewart's historic and exclusive enclave include actors Jenna and Bodhi Elfman, British pop star Natasha Bedingfield, actor Casey Affleck and his former actress wife Summer Phoenix, and recently married actress Natalie Portman and her toe-twinkling dancer/choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied who coughed up $3,250,000 in  for her house with a long history of celeb owners including now-divorced Tinseltowners Catherine Keener and Dermott Mulroney.

Now she can play around with whomever she wishes in the glorious privacy of her own home. What bliss.

Lovely Property. One home is for "sexy time" the other for family time.

Nice place. What makes her "fame averse"? Their 15 minutes are about up, regardless.

"Fame averse" but issuing public appologies not to loose too many of the Disney fans (of all ages) who made her famous. The more educated target she wants to make films for is not judgemental and obviously they would laugh at her public self "shaming" but they're not hardcore enough to make her the most popular.Fame averse indeed.

whoa, nice house!! lol at the moral police coming to post, as if they are angels! Love the kitchen

I like the exterior of the house! But pity about that horrible kitchen and the lack of yard space.

Tho I'd imagine Ms Stewart won't be spending much time frolicking outdoors. This looks like a great house for some wild, hot, unprotected kinky sex.

PS children, always wear condoms.

I wonder if all the Twilight crazy fans will spam you again Mama, like they did with your post on the Sparkle King Pattinson.

The backyard of that house is quite lovely, but everyone else is just so.....MEH.

Only 1.5 miles away so is this more secure from photographers and crazy fans that the first house? Maybe its individual addresses for her and Robert now but is 4 rooms alot for one girl? Maybe she gonna live in with Rupert since he look to be in disagreement with his wife still and Kristen have the home space to date both same time again. Not a good kitchen but outside is great. Great pool area and terrace! I like.

To Anonymous October 15, 2012 4:42 PM: Using jealousy as an immediate go to excuse speaks of your own immaturity. This is a property, not fan blog so why assume that commentators who aren't fawning over the celebrities don't already own, or lack the means to buy similar homes? Anyway, that rubbish aside I agree with Petra that the kitchen isn't the best but it has potential, and the lack of yard space is a negative if you plan to entertain a large number of guests or want to conduct your affairs largely outdoors. The house does however have many positives. Thanks for the information Mama.

This place has potential, but like 5:31 says, Kristen needs a good gay decorator to help her out here. Or maybe a whole fleet of them, judging by that kitchen.

Looks like something that belongs in Palm Desert or La Quinta, not Los Feliz.

Mama, I've always been a defender of yours recently when people have said you were slacking off. But the estate of legendary 60 minutes broadcaster listed a SPRCTACULAR park ave duplex the other day for $ 20mil, and we get nothing on that, but instead some tiny ugly house of some twilight twat and some rumors about Reese Witherspoon?? Also, every real estate media outlet has been all over all of the widely reported sales at one57 in new york recently, several for around $50m and one over $90m. But you have not even mentioned these? Derek Jeter sells, and not a mention. A $19m sale at 740 park to a Goldman Sachs fatcat, and nothing....

You really sick person!!!

Alas, the library of the spectacular Park Avenue duplex is microscopic of size, and clearly insufficient to house the Rabbi's spectacular collection of Stephanie Plum novels. Despite its provenance, the Rabbi won't be placing an offer on this legendary pad.

revro

well she probably cleaned out 20-40 milion after taxes and paying her management fees from twilight franchise. and before twilight she acted mostly in independent movies, so i dont think she is over zenit she still has a long career before her.

the house itself looks nicer from back than from front tough looks kind of too general.

Nobody cares about some boring, overpriced apartments/condos in NYC.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS

Kristen who?

;-)

As far as the house is concerned, she could do a lot worse; despite the front-facing garage, the door is rather attractive (wish the same could be said for the unfortunate hood over the double entry doors).

Demo the kitchen, beef up the xeriscaping to shield the too-close-to-the-curb facade from the street, and perhaps re-grade the yard for more usable space & it makes a pretty good home for a young actress.

kristen's parents are divorcing so this really could be her mother jules' house.

Those NYC apartments get boring, plus K-Stew is very popular, or do you know realize that?

Isn't this the house that Rob Kardashian looked at on Keeping up with the Kardashians?

Anonymous said...

Mama, congrats on breaking yet another story! This is all over the news! :)

Well since Rob mentioned last week that he was neighbors with Natalie Portman and that she had extended him the invitation to Benjamin's fundraiser that he attended, I would assume Rob is living there with Kristen.

It's right next to Will.i.am's house from the Black Eyed Peas.....

Sounds like this is in the gated area of Laughlin Park in Los Feliz. If so, there are no guards at the gates. Security is good....but not great.

The views are wonderful as is the house. It's hers so she must like it for many reasons so it doesn't matter what we think.

Sadly it isn't private enough since a papp took many pics of them on the porch which were posted on the 17th.

The overall concept of their house looks simple and cozy which is very typical of Kirsten. I especially like the outdoor verandah style which is perfect for a relaxing rest after a hard day's work. The rustic touch gives a soft outlook making it even more cozy. There seems to be no clutters around as the furniture pieces are also not that many. It is easy to see that they lead a simple life and like a spacious and airy environment with the clutter free house. It is really a wonder how people can manage to live without barely any storage space. Perhaps they have an outdoor storage shed where they use to dump everything in.
